Fläschchen, stosssicher in einem Messingbehälter verpackt. Letzterer auf dem Schraubdeckel markiert "DOWN Brs. London". Diese Firma belieferte den medizinischen Markt ab 1874, nannte sich ab 1903 "Down Brs. limited". St Thomas' Street, Borough / London.

Bei Alexis PECK findet man ein fast identisches Ensemble mit der Notiz: "A c. 1900 antique chloroform glass bottle within its original protective screw-open metal canister. The lid to the case is hand-engraved: Chloroform]" wobei in der Tat Chloroform auf dem Deckel eingraviert ist ... anstelle von Down Brs..

Das "Medical Museum" der "British Columbia Medical Association" besitzt ein ähnliches 9,9 cm hohes, 4 cm im Durchmesser grosses Metallgefäss und schreibt dazu: "Screw top metal container used to carry medicine bottle.; Bottle Holder, 1911-1950". Ein zweites Gefäss trägt die Notiz: "Stoppered narrow mouth glass bottle in a metal screw-cap container".
